What is WorkSmart?

The Iowa WorkSmart Project is the implementation of Workday's cloud-based human resources application that went live on September 17, 2021, and replaced the State’s legacy system - Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

A cross-functional team of employees across State government united as one team throughout the Workday implementation and deployment.

The State of Iowa's Workday tenant includes human capital management (HCM), payroll, and expenses.
